ScreenDuty Terms of Use

Last updated: 14 October 2026

1. Who we are

ScreenDuty is provided by GAMITECH, Lda., a private limited company (sociedade por quotas), registered office Rua Casais dos Morgados, 34, Casais dos Morgados, Chão da Parada, 2500-926 Caldas da Rainha, Portugal, registered with the Caldas da Rainha Commercial Registry under number 517547155, share capital €2,000.00 ("we"). Contact: [email protected] · +351 916 449 374. By creating an account you accept these Terms. Personal data is covered by the Privacy Policy.

2. Who can use it

Only adults (18+) can create an account, as a family guardian. By adding a child you confirm you hold parental responsibility or legal guardianship for them; if someone else also holds parental responsibility, you are responsible for using ScreenDuty in line with your arrangement with them. Children use a phone a guardian links to the family and don't create an account. Only link phones the child uses and that you are entitled to manage.

3. Your account

Keep your password safe. Other guardians you invite have the same permissions over the children; only invite people who also care for the child or whom you authorise to.

4. Subscription, free trial and payments

Right of withdrawal. As a consumer you may withdraw within 14 days without giving a reason (Portuguese Decree-Law 24/2014); refunds are requested from Apple or Google, which process payments.

5. What ScreenDuty does and doesn't do

Blocking uses what Apple and Google provide, within each system's limits, and can be affected by system updates, phone settings, missing permissions or changes on the phone. On iPhone, the child can only be prevented from switching blocking off if the phone is signed in with a Child Account in Apple Family Sharing (Apple's rule). Emergency calls are always available; phone and messages are allowed by default. ScreenDuty doesn't replace adult supervision and can't guarantee a child won't reach content or apps by other means. AI: quizzes and task suggestions are made by AI, labelled as such, and may contain mistakes; guardians can review, grant and cancel minutes.

6. Acceptable use

Don't use the app to monitor anyone you have no right to monitor; upload photos other than tasks, study material or school planners; upload illegal content; try to reach other families' data; get around security, limits or payments; or copy, modify or resell the app.

7. Content and notices

Your family's photos and texts stay yours; you let us process them only to provide the service. The app, name, logo and artwork are ours. Content is only visible within the family and isn't reviewed by us. Report illegal content to [email protected] with the reason; we handle each notice diligently and may remove content or suspend accounts. This is also our point of contact for authorities and users under the Digital Services Act (EU) 2022/2065, in Portuguese or English.

8. Conformity and liability

Your statutory conformity rights for digital content and services (Decree-Law 84/2021) are not limited by these Terms. We provide the service with reasonable care but can't promise it will never be interrupted. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect loss or for what the child does on the phone. This doesn't apply to intent or gross negligence, harm to life, body or health, or any case where the law doesn't allow limiting liability.

9. Ending

Delete your account any time in the app (Settings → Delete account); this doesn't cancel the store subscription. We may suspend or end an account that seriously breaches these Terms, with prior notice and reasons unless the law or children's safety prevents it.

10. Changes to these Terms

Only for valid reasons (legal changes, new features, security), announced in the app at least 30 days in advance. If you disagree, you can cancel and delete your account before they take effect.

11. Apple App Store

If you downloaded the app from the App Store: these Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, and isn't responsible for claims relating to the app (including product liability, legal compliance or intellectual property claims), which are ours to the extent required by these Terms and the law. If the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, which will refund the purchase price where applicable; Apple has no other warranty obligation. You must comply with applicable third-party terms. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. You represent that you are not in a US-embargoed country nor on a US government prohibited or restricted list.

12. Law, disputes and complaints

Portuguese law applies, without affecting mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you habitually live. Consumers may use an alternative dispute resolution body: CNIACC (Portuguese National Consumer Arbitration Centre), www.cniacc.pt (more at www.consumidor.gov.pt), the Portuguese online complaints book at www.livroreclamacoes.pt, and the courts of their domicile.
